An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a highly talented and ambitious Digital Designer to join our team at Firetrap in our menswear team. As Digital Designer you will be responsible for creating customer focused content for global Firetrap websites.

Firetrap was founded in 1993 - a brand that was anti-bureaucratic and unconventional - "Edgy" "Dangerous" "Individual" "English" and "Uncompromising" were used to describe this brand by its founder and the words are just as relevant to the label today, almost 20 years later.

Firetrap capitalises on the fact that the brand is designed in London by British designers - Firetrap is defined by the London look and attitude, it is a mirror to London style and culture - Firetrap is London and London- ism is the future. Taking inspiration from all the sights, sounds and flavours of London life, Firetrap's time is the night-time, they are grabbing hold of the legendary subversive wit and rebellious spirit associated with the city and making it their own.

Having firmly established itself internationally, the brand is sold in more than 1,500 doors worldwide in over 30 countries. There are concessions within House of Fraser and Selfridges stores in the UK and the brand is currently entering new exciting times ahead following its recent purchase by Sports Direct.

Reporting to:

Marketing Manager

Role and Responsibilities:

 

  • Supports the Online Marketing Coordinator by creating the design and following the aesthetic direction of Firetrap across all online media channels.
  • Create assets for the global Firetrap e-commerce homepage, category landing pages and emailiers on a weekly basis.
  • Work creatively within brand guidelines, to the highest standard.
  • Create and implement the seasonal look of the site at key trading times, such as Christmas, summer holidays, festival season.
  • Keep abreast of new web technologies and advances in E-Commerce web design and identify opportunities to apply these wherever possible.
  • Regularly monitor competitor activity from a design and functionality perspective, and report new developments or innovations back to the team.
  • Works to ensure site design enhances, rather than compromises, site performance and usability.
  • Design email creative that appeals in look and content to the segment markets being targeted.
  • Social media website back-end development.
  • Ad hoc: Support the internal teams with non-digital artwork requests.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Established and proven digital design skill, with a strong varied folio showing multiplatform design and experience.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects at any time.
  • Able to communicate rationale behind design work to non-designers.
  • Flexible and responsive to feedback.
  • Works well and speedily under pressure.
  • Obsessively customer focused, able to connect with Firetrap customer lifestyles.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Sound understanding of the commercial objectives underlying site creative and design.
  • Team player, good inter-personal skills.
  • Motion graphic design.
  • Film / photography.
