Retail Finance Assistant

Job Purpose:

 

Produce timely and accurate information to assist the retail team in the daily running and decision making of the business.

Reporting to:

Retail Accountant

Role and Responsibilities:

 

Daily

  • Issue daily sales emails to directors and retail management.
  • Issue daily KPI's to retail management and other relevant persons.

 

Weekly

  • To keep up to date weekly CEO pack and compile retail sales emails on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • To reconcile cash and credit card takings with what the stores physically banked.
  • To produce reports detailing the level of refunds given in each store and reconcile these credit card refunds to the Anderson Zaks console.
  • Work with retail accountant and retail stock controller to analyse transfers outstanding and stock holding by units and value.

 

Monthly

  • Issue monthly sales emails to directors and retail management.
  • Update monthly cash flow spreadsheet to aid monthly bank reconciliation.

 

Ad-Hoc

  • To compile invoices as directed by Retail Accountant for the auditors.
  • To keep an up to date records system of store paperwork and end of day receipts.
  • To compile certain schedules for the monthly management accounts (Pieces, Margin, Capex)
  • To assist in the administration of the finance department as requested.
  • To aid the retail accountant with any ad-hoc tasks.

To aid with the process of stock taking when needed

Other key requirements:

  • Must be a current student, whose course requires them to do a compulsory work experience component.
  • You will be a Management Accountant ideally with previous roles in retail.
  • You will have assisted in the production of Budgets and Forecasts and have an analytical and enquiring mind.
  • You will be educated to or currently studying towards a Professional Accounting Qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA).
  • You will have strong business acumen and experience in commercial accounting.
  • You will have experience working with buying and merchandising teams.
  • You will have excellent communication skills.
  • Strong Excel knowledge is essential to macro level.
  • You will be used to liaising with non finance teams such as Sales and Marketing.
  • Excellent data manipulation skills.
  • Cash-flow experience is an advantage.
