Job Purpose:

To oversee the day to day activities of the retail business  by supporting the store manager in the delivering of store Sales & other KPI' s

Reporting to:

Store Manager

Role and Responsibilities:

 

Customer Service & Sales

  • Ensure that the best customer service and selling practices are carried out at all times
  • Supporting the handling of customer complaints in line with company policy
  • Support staff training in customer service & Selling practices
  • Ensure that Team Members reflect the brand image and is upheld at all times

Operating Standards

  • Opening and closing procedures are adhered to correctly
  • Focused on the general standards & housekeeping
  • Support the banking process on time - any discrepancies are reported to store manager immediately
  • Ensure that the brand image is projected at all times through high standards of visual appearance and merchandising
  • Support with the collation of the Trade report
  • Review Area manager 121's with the store manager and support completion of next steps
  • Hold the accountability for the store when the store manager is not about
  • Co-ordinate the communication of key issues to all staff

Ensure right hours in the right place

  • Support with scheduling staff onto the Rota
  • Support the adherence of core hours

Stock Management

  • Utilise the EPOS System
  • Support the delivery process to ensure deliveries are worked daily
  • Review that returns have been actioned
  • Completes best seller checks
  • Provides the store manager with up to date feedback on stock levels

Trading activity

  • Reviews the commercial offer daily
  • Review with the store manager the Visual merchandising
  • Regular competitor visits to ensure that the brand remains competitive

People management

  • Support with the appraisal process; by
  • Ensure that all Sales assistants have a half year review
  • Supports the store manager in the recruitment of new starters
  • Provides training and induction of new starters into the company
  • Supporting the delivery of Health & Safety requirements are met

Projects

  • Contribute to the retail strategy

Previous Management Experience ideal
