Job Purpose:

 

To predict, develop, establish & present, a strong visual graphic look for SC-51 /Sonneti for all product areas within the collection.

Reporting to:

Head of Design

Role and Responsibilities:

 

Design:

  • To manage the design process and meet all critical dates set for all relevant product areas.
  • Create, develop, design, execute and evaluate a variety of graphic themes and approaches and concepts for all product areas that complement and enhance all the collections produced.
  • Create, develop, design, execute and evaluate a variety of graphic themes and approaches and concepts for labels, swing tickets, button designs and rivets that complement and enhance the collections.
  • Present to the Head of Design, Brand manager & CEO, relevant research, inspiration and back up information sufficient to produce dynamic products for new & existing seasons.
  • Develop and execute display concepts that allow SC-51 product to be creatively merchandised.
  • To manage, organise, oversee and implement the Swatch book and all associated attributes.
  • To propose & present 3D & internet based POS & brand enhancing design ideas that relate to the promotion of the brand for the purpose of in-house, showroom & retail environments.
  • Influence the design team in terms of design direction for products through knowledge, research and own design inspirations.
  • Collate, gather and present themes, directions and relevant products or artefacts that will influence or produce on-trend graphics for all product areas.

Planning and Organisation:

  • To manage the design process and meet all critical dates for all relevant product areas.
  • Ensure that all designs are entered onto the PDM system at the correct times with the relevant level of detail
  • Understand and work within the approved pricing ratios making suggestions to reduce costs whilst maximising profit.
  • Work closely with the design team to ensure that all deadlines are met for all product areas
  • Plan, organise & manage the Swatch Book and associated attibutes.(cads,colourways,photographs,backdrop setting/theme)

Communication and Influencing:

  • Regular communication with the production team, ensuring that Merchandisers understand the graphic direction and that design elements are not compromised in production
  • Regular communication with production factories, ensuring that the graphic concepts are fully communicated and understood and any issues or challenges are dealt with effectively prior to production taking place.
  • If required, work on-site with production factories to monitor how graphics come out of production making suggestions for improvement and enhancement.
  • Have a constant and ongoing communication with the head of design & Brand Manager to ensure that all Graphic goals are creatively & commercially achieved.

Commercial Focus:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience for the market place at which the product is sold at & to make contributions to the wider SC-51 strategy that influence the profitability of the brand.

 Other key requirements:

  • A relevant design degree
  • At least 3 years experience as a graphic designer, with experience in the relevant field of fashion for men's apparel.
  • Experience in garment construction - understands how garments are put together and graphics can impact the design and construction of garments
  • Experienced in a variety of graphic applications and techniques including ink printing, rubberising , embroidery etc
  • Advanced level in Photoshop, Illustrator etc
